Cluster Director of Marketing

The overall scope of the Director of Marketing is to assist the Director of Sales to position and promote  hotel and its outlets as the market leader through marketing activities as well as to ensure compliance with the brand Kempinski.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Budget
  • Under the supervision of the GM create the hotel media and marketing plan.
  • Implement media and marketing plan and coordinate with agencies.
  • Determines overall marketing campaign ROI. Monitors and reviews the response rates in order to improve and take corrective measures (where applicable).
  • Responsible for developing hotel Marketing budget and maintain budget control.
2. Collateral, Direct Marketing & Content Management
  • In liaison with GM oversee creation and production of collaterals both digital and print according to Corporate Identity.
  • Pro-actively promote Rooms, Food and Beverage including Banquet/Conferences, or any other current or forthcoming activities which lead to potential sources of business. 
  • Plan and create promotions and packages together with the relevant departments, i.e. F&B, revenue etc.
  • Conduct market analysis on a regular basis and especially before outlet opening or re-positioning.
  • Oversee planning, coordination and implementation of direct marketing, both on- and offline.
  • Oversee production and execution of newsletter according to communication plan
  • Maintain and develop guest database for mailings.
  • Create, coordinate and maintain give-aways and collateral.
  • Ensure hotel information is updated regularly on the intranet, kempinski.com and third party websites.
3. Advertising/ Photography
  • Plan and direct photo-shootings for marketing and advertising purposes in liaison with GM, advertising agency and corporate.
  • Implement advertising plan in strategic feeder market and supervise ROI and apply corrective measures if needed.
  • Ensure picture storage and distribution systems are maintained (Picture Park & VFMLeonardo).
  • Ensure content and photography of 3rd party websites is maintained.
  • Ensure hotel has the needed and overall photo rights on all used media and acts accordingly.
4.Brand
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Identity guidelines. 
  • Acts as brand custodian for hotel and Kempinski brand.
  • Ensure all creatives are reviewed and approved by Corporate Marketing in a timely manner before advertising agency or printer proceeds.
  • Attend to and deliver all requirements of Corporate Marketing within the given deadlines.
  • Coordinate between hotel and Corporate Marketing and agencies whenever necessary.
  • Maintain updates of corporate marketing guidelines and inform colleagues.
5.General
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments, especially sales, Public Relations and web as well as creative agencies and suppliers.
  • Contribute to my.kempinski to share best Marketing practices, the best practices can be collateral, successful promotions, outlet launches etc, this provides a channel for inter-hotel learning and also creates motivation.
  • Bring ideas and participate in the preparations of the promotional theme events, other promotional activities and invitation lists.
  • Follow the sales and marketing results and propose corrective actions if needed.
  • Take part in marketing training programmes.
  • Keep informed on competition, industry benchmarks and follow up on market trends on a regular basis.
  • Keep up to date with Marketing trends and tools to enhance the continual learning process and make recommendations to the GM.
  • Network with colleagues in similar positions in the local hospitality and tourism industries, as well as other potential business related industries. 
  • Keep updated with the latest developments in the hotel including all activities, promotions, rates of the hotel.
  • Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.


Job Requirements

EDUCATION: 
  • Bachelor’s or similar degree from an accredited college or university with major work in Tourism/Hotel Management as well as sound training and education in the international luxury hotel business management
EXPERIENCE:
  • At least five years of experience as Marketing Manager 
  • International experience in comparative positions
  • Sound training in various departments in international luxury hotels
LANGUAGE: 
  • Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment
  • English – excellent oral and written skills
  • Croatian & Slovenian – advantage
  • Additional language - beneficial
