Senior Director of Global Group Sales - MICE

The Senior Director of MICE is responsible for developing and executing the hotel’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) strategy to drive group revenue, maximize event space utilization, and position the hotel as a leading destination for business events. This leader will manage a team, cultivate strong client relationships, oversee event logistics, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure world-class service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1.        Strategic Sales Planning
Develop and implement comprehensive MICE sales strategies aligned with hotel revenue goals. 
 
2.        Team Leadership and Development
Lead, train, and mentor the MICE sales team to exceed group sales targets. 

3.        Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, PCOs (Professional Congress Organizers), DMCs, and event planners. 
 
4.        Marketing Collaboration
Collaborate with marketing to create targeted campaigns to promote the hotel’s MICE offerings. 
 
5.        Event Coordination Oversight
Oversee the end-to-end coordination of major conferences, meetings, and incentive events. 
 
6.        Revenue Management Partnership
Work closely with the revenue management team to forecast, budget, and optimize rates for group business. 
 
7.        Market Analysis and Business Development
Conduct regular market analysis to understand trends, identify new business opportunities, and maintain a competitive edge. 
 
8.        Industry Representation and Networking
Represent the hotel at major industry trade shows, networking events, and client roadshows. 
 
9.        Interdepartmental Communication
Ensure seamless communication between the sales, events, banqueting, and operations teams for successful event execution. 
 
10.    Client Satisfaction and Improvement
Monitor client satisfaction and implement improvements based on feedback

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in hotel group sales, with significant exposure to the MICE sector.
  • Previous leadership experience managing a sales team.
  • Deep knowledge of MICE markets, particularly corporate and association sectors.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Delphi, Opera, Salesforce).
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
